Writing Prompts at the end of the Day

THE HORROR FLICK
"Find the darkness in these 3 props".
a green ribbon, a polished-stone brooch, a broken candle

He knew he was in big trouble. Really big trouble. Falling for those red haired dames, so quickly, just a wee bit too quickly. That night went too fast and the whisky tasted just a little smooth. Spotting her at the end of the bar he left his friends behind and sauntered over to her. A green ribbon lay in front of her next to a glass of irish whisky. Before speaking a single word, she spoke. "Let me buy you one for once." Who was he to say no. Even his best buds never bought him a round now this lovely lass was doing the honors. The whisky warmed him up and his tongue as well. The night flew by and before he knew it he was heading out the door with this creature. Strange how beautiful she was and yet not a soul in the place bother the pair all night.

She let him follow her home. "We don't even need to drive, I live right over that hill." She pointed to a house on a hill not far away from the bar. Where was that house a couple of hours ago? Had it always existed it, maybe somewhere in his memory he could recall that place. Growing up in the area had it's advantages but still. History could wait he was watching something move up that hill that was a wee bit more captivating than some old dusty book. Stumbling over themselves the newly discovered duo found themselves on the porch of Hannah McGregor's house. "So, are you coming or not?" Not saying a word Hannah grabbed her prey and pulled him inside.

Dark, the house held no light. Something about the place made your skin crawl. It was if something truly wicked had happened there. The lights didn't work right so Hannah lit an old broken candle, conviently left right by the front door. "Follow me," she whispered. Men will do anything for a piece of ass and Kevin Fletcher wasn't about to let this one get away. The two shimmied up the stairs and entered Hannah's bedroom. He hadn't noticed the polished-stone brooch Hannah was wearing until she peeled it off along with every other bit of clothing on her.

Looking at her with just a hint of moonlight across her face his stomach fell. It wasn't Hannah at all standing there it was old Miss McGregor the witch from his childhood. When had she changed and why was he always so stupid. Running for his life, he ran as if his very life depended on it and it did. Out the door and down the street he ran. Not stopping until a car pulled up and offered him a ride home.

Funny he hadn't thought about that story in a long time. It had been a long time. He walked up to the girl at the bar noticing her ribbon he smiled. Hi, she said and his heart froze. Literally. Kevin never bothered a soul again, well at least a living that is. But that's another story.
